Gift of Salvation

- John 3:1"Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews;"
- 2"this man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi,
we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.”
- 3"Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
- 4"Nicodemus said* to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he?”
- 5"Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."
- 6“That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit."
- 7“Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’"
- 8“The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
- 9"Nicodemus said to Him, “How can these things be?”
- 10"Jesus answered and said to h"im, “Are you the teacher of Israel and do not understand these things?
- 11“Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know and testify of what we have seen, and you do not accept our testimony."
- 12“If I told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?"
- 13“No one has ascended into heaven, but He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man."
- 14“As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up;"
- 15"that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life."
- 16“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."
- 17 “For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him."
- 18“He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
- 19“And this is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil."
- 20“For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed."
- 21“But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.”
Acts 16:31b, "BELIEVE in the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved."
- Acts 4:10, "Let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead by this name this man stands here before you in good health.
- 11“He is the stone which was rejected by you, the builders, but which became the chief corner stone.
- 12“And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”
Eph 2:8-9 "For by grace you have been saved through faith (believing in Christ); and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast."
After Salvation we need to know how to operate in our salvation.
To function effectively as a Christian we need to be lead and directed by God the Holy Spirit.
At Salvation we are permanently indwelled by God the Holy Spirit.
1 Cor. 3:16, "Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?"
God the Holy Spirit indwells every believer to make a temple for the indwelling of Jesus Christ. 1 Cor. 6:19-20
- 1 Cor. 6:19. "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of (God) the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God (the Father), and that you are not your own?"
- 20 "For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God (the Son) in your body."
You CANNOT lose the indwelling of God the Holy Spirit through sin!
2 Cor 1:22; Eph 1:13; 4:30
- Eph 1: 13,"In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,"
- 14 "who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory."
- Eph 4:30, "Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption."
- 31 "Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander…
... be put away from you, along with all malice."
- 32 "Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you."
Not only does God the Holy Spirit have an Indwelling ministry in your soul, He also has a Filling ministry.
- Eph 5:18,"And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,"
- 19 "speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord;"
- 20 "always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord J.C. to God, even the Father;"
- 21 "and be subject to one another in the fear of Christ."
You CAN lose "filling" through sin!
The Filling of the Spirit is a COMMAND from God!
The filling of the Spirit is lost when we enter into some form of sin, either Mental, Verbal or Overt.
Prov 28:13, "He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who CONFESSES and forsakes them (sins) will find compassion."
Eph 5:18, "And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,"
To regain or restore the filling of the Holy Spirit we 1 John 1:9
Naming your sins with resultant restoration of the filling of God the Holy Spirit we term as Rebound.
Isolate and Name:
Admit your sins to God the Father in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Once Named - Forget: Don’t think about your sins or failures again.
Why? Because the Lord Jesus Christ has already paid for them & God has forgotten them.
Keep Moving:
Move on & learn what the Bible has to say about life.
Why Rebound?
This restores our fellowship with God in time after we have sinned.
Why Rebound?
Recovers the Filling of the Spirit and gives us access to Divine Power to live the Christian life.
Why Rebound?
Gives us an intimate personal relationship with the Lord.
Why Rebound?
Gives us the freedom to serve the Lord
Rebound IS NOT "feeling sorry" for your sins!
Rebound is POWER over sin.
The believer who is filled with the Holy Spirit will produce the fruit of the Spirit.
- Gal 5:22, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,"
- 23 "gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."
- 1 John 1:5, "This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all."
- 6 "If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth;"
- 7 "but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin."
- 8 "If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us."
- 9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
1 Cor. 11:31, "But if we JUDGE OURSELVES RIGHTLY, we should not be judged."
Psa 32:5, "I (David) ACKNOWLEDGED MY SIN to Thee (God), And my iniquity I did not hide; I said, 'I WILL CONFESS my transgressions (sins) to the Lord; And Thou (God) didst forgive the guilt of my sin. Selah."
Phil 3:13, “Forgetting what lies behind & reaching forward to what lies ahead”
Isa 43:25, "I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions (sins) for My own sake; and I WILL NOT REMEMBER YOUR SINS."
2 Cor 7:10 - “Repentance without regret”
2 Cor 13:5 - “Examine yourselves”
Luke 15:18, “Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight”
John 13:10, “He who has bathed needs only to wash his feet”
Neh 1:6, "let Thine ear now be attentive and Thine eyes open to hear the prayer of Thy servant (Nehemiah) which I am praying before Thee now, day and night, on behalf of the sons of Israel Thy servants, CONFESSING THE SINS of the sons of Israel which we have sinned against Thee; I and my father's house have sinned."
The Lord Jesus Christ paid the penalty for every sin committed in human history.
He died for every sin committed in the human race-past, present & future.
Rom. 5:8; 2 Cor. 5:14-15, 19; 1 Pet. 2:24; 1 John 2:2
- 2 Cor 5:14, "For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died;"
- 15 "and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf."
- 16 "Therefore from now on we recognize no man according to the flesh; even though we have known Christ acccording to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer."
- 17 "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come."
- 18 "Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,"
- 19 "namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation."
1 Pet 2:24, "and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed."
1 John 2:2, "and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world."
The Lord Jesus Christ died so that we can connect and re-connect our telephone line to the Father and talk to Him and listen to Him.
